If you drive straight from Anchorage, it’s about a two hour drive.
There are many sights to see along the way, so you may want to allow more
time. Remember there’s lots of daylight in the summertime in Alaska!
1. 20 minutes out of Anchorage: watch for the Dall sheep on the left side
of the highway.
2. Girdwood/Alyeska ski resort: take the tram to the top of the mountain
and have lunch at the roundhouse where the view is awesome!
3. ~Mile 50: Big Game Farm, a must see!
4. Mile 55: See the small mining town of Hope. Very quaint.
5. Mile 42: Summit Lake Lodge, a rustic log restaurant on Summit Lake.
Stop for a bite or a Latte!
6. Mile 28: Small lakeside town of Moose pass.
7. Mile 7: Country Moose Inn.
